here's to education

Education is great. It's an enlightening experience if taken correctly OR it can be a not so lovely time, if you dread it or find absolutely no interest at all. I am one that doesn't necessarily find education that great unless I have some interest in it. Remember all those pointless classes in high school that we were forced to take to graduate and if you were lucky, you passed because you rarely ever went thinking the boredom of that particular class might kill you?! I do. I had a hard time doing my generals in college as well because I couldn't get myself to focus or love it. My attention span is very small. I wanted to go to school to be a nurse but I found that wasn't something I really loved either. I learned that I love patient care but not the downtime, hours, etc of nursing. I just wanted a tool in my hand and to have my hands busy the whole time. I struggled a bit in march, thinking I was doomed because I hated to go to school and that I wasn't going for the right thing. After a lot of praying and thought, I stumbled upon the idea of dental. Wow! Great hours. Hands are busy. Patient care. How did I not think of it before?! I felt this motivating urge to engulf in a lot of classes and to push through to get into dental hygiene school. But being married, we hit a few stumbling blocks. At this moment, Tay and I could really only afford one to go to school if we wanted to start really saving for a house in the future and we don't want any student debt. Sadly, I was stumped again. It's more important for him to go to school which is great! I finally learned that you can make a career out of dental assisting! Oh wow! I starting looking into schools and found what I needed. Practical Dental Assisting of Utah school that offered a summer course that offered what I needed in the short amount of time so Tay could start school. I signed up! And let me tell you, it has been an amazing, enlightening experience. Seriously, the instructors are great, they help you so much and push you to do your best. I haven't done this well in school ever! I just love it. There are great lectures but a lot of hands on too which makes the experience that much better!

I work at the hospital right now, but there are many downsides to being there right now. I asked a friend to help me get an internship (the school likes us to start interning to get more hands on), and she said they were actually having a group interview the following week and I was invited. I didn't think I would get the job because I am not even half way into school but I figured what the heck. I went to the interview. It was great! I did okay I thought. They told us if they were interested, they would be calling soon to set up a second, individual interview. As I left the office, not even getting down the street, I get a phone call. They told me that they loved me and wanted to hire me then without a second interview... WHAT?! I couldn't believe it! So there you have it folks, another reason why this school is that much better and such a blessing to me. All my prayers have been answered in this short amount of time and I couldn't be more thankful! I am now a dental assistant in training and an official dental assistant at Stonehaven Dental in Lehi!

because I love him

I really just love this man so this post is JUST for him. Our story is unique and I know every love story is but ours really IS my favorite. Meet Mr. Taylor Hunsaker. He's a 5'8" handsome fella. Grew up in Phoenix. He did ROTC and was VERY good at it, just ask him your self:) he's funny and loving. He just wants to put smiles on people's faces. A day doesn't go by that we don't share some good laughs! I have never met someone who is so patient and for being married to me, that's just a small glimpse at how patient he is!!! He served his mission in Brazil and still fluently speaks Portuguese which I find very attractive:) his hard work never ceases to amaze me. How thankful I am for it and I pray that our kids will be just like their dad:) The Lord was mindful and had a plan for us and I know He still does. I love that we can laugh and communicate openly. Let's face it folks, he really is just amazing. He keeps me going and pushes me to be better! If you know this man, you know this all to be true and some :)

happy rodeo-versary Hunsexy's

The Lehi Round Up Rodeo is a special time for Tay and I. Yes, the bull riding, cowboys, and feel is great but that's not why its so special. In June 2012, that was the first time we actually met. Taylor came up to visit my cousin, his good friend, Jake. We met and got along really well. We went on our "first" date fourwheeling but we don't count that as our first date. Taylor was a crazy fourwheeler and me, holding on for dear life, got huge blisters on my hands. NO I was not very fond of him after that and swore this kid was crazy.

Well Taylor wanted to go on a double with Jake and a date, and me being the only girl he knew in Utah, he asked me out. This was Taylor's first rodeo and I saw a different side of him that night. My annoyance of the blisters he left on my hands went away. We laughed and had an amazing time! We took Taylor down to the dirt for the dance after the rodeo so that he could get the feel of what "real" rodeo ground feels like. We shared a dance, sang along and just had a really good time. We consider this our first date.
So our story goes afterwards. Fall and winter pass, I head out on my mission. We dated two weeks before my mission, it was the hardest thing I did by leaving him but the Lord had something in store for our obedience. I came home in June, a week before the next rodeo (imagine that). Taylor and I went on our first date after me coming home that day. We went up to the Brigham City Temple and as dorky as it sounds, Tay told me that he wanted to date me and he strongly felt that we were going somewhere. The rodeo followed after that.
And the year passed on... Now we are married and we got to enjoy the rodeo once more together, this time as husband and wife. New family tradition? I think yes.

Yes he got me flowers for year number 3. Can't let Mr. Hunsaker take a picture of Mrs. Hunsaker without laughing.

down in "phoenix"

June 19-22, 2013
This last weekend, we had the opportunity to go visit Taylor's family in Phoenix, as well as attend baby Flynn's blessing. What a great weekend it was! Driving down though... Not so much. Taylor's car, Lucille, has been out of A/C for about a year now. It went out on our drive down last year when I was going to MEET the family. The drive started out great, we made a stop to Sand Hollow to fulfill a bucketlist wish... Jumping off cliffs!

My position changes every picture... Tay just holds that same professional jump ;)
The drive from Sand Hollow to Phoenix was the worst thing ever... NO A/C!!! I told Taylor at a gas station that I gave up and to just leave me behind... A little dramatic but he encouraged me to keep going. 10 hours later, we made it!
We went and supported our favorite team saturday night, the Arizona Diamondbacks as they faced the Giants. Free duffel bags for the first 20,000 guests... Woot woot!
Sunday selfie. On the way to baby Flynn's blessing.
I am a proud aunt. Charlotte is the photobomber. I will give her credit. Little Flynn is as cute and chubby as ever!
Little Flynn smiling as we say goodbye. THOSE CHEEKS!
We had such a great trip visiting family. We don't get to see Tay's family very often as it is hard to travel down there. But every time we go, it is always a blast playing boggle, visiting, and whatever else we decide to do ;)
Can't drive home to Utah without stopping at our favorite mexican place in Flagstaff, Some Burros! If you haven't tried it, try it. Its great and you get goofy donkey hats... Why not?
